A three year old boy has died after allegedly being stabbed to death by his father in suburban Adelaide.
Police said boy who suffered numerous stab wounds, was taken to Adelaide Women’s and Children’s Hospital but died from his injuries.
Emergency crews were responding to an accident on Gorge Road, at the intersection of Hockley Terrace at Athelstone, about 9am when another car with the injured boy flagged down paramedics, The Advertiser reported.
The boy’s father was driving the car that flagged down emergency services.
According to police, the boy was allegedly stabbed a house in Stepney then driven to Athelstone where the father approached them.
South Australian Police confirmed they were approached by a man who said he had injured his son.
A 36-year-old Stepney man has been detained by police and has been taken to Royal Adelaide Hospital.
